2007 2008 2009 Walter D Koemp Melanerpes formicivorus Pipeline HNHR 6 Feb After getting reports of a NOBA here we ambushed the 2005 nest hole and got 5 (!) birds: 83905, 83907, 2 AZY 94, and one 2Y 8! Apparently 2 new 99 here; perhaps one of the kids from their natal group came with them? Seems unlikely but then again so does a fall nest that we would have to have missed. 9 May 1700. Checked The hole (#248): 6 kids, ~3ish days old! 27 May Banded + bled the 6 kids here. Stores: Yes. 28 Apr 0930 incubated. 5 eggs had to enlarge cut to get in ① 23.5x19.2 (opaque) ② 23.8x20.1 (③ 23.6x19.7 (④ 23.5x18.5 ⑤ 23.8x19.7 (translucent) (translucent) (opaque) (translucent) Hole #248, tree 4403 2006 6 May 1115. 2 kids, ~3 do, +3 unhatched eggs. Band ~ 25 May. 23 May 1000. Banded The 2 kids here. Stores? Yes. 2009 18 Apr Plenty of stores. 18 May 1500. Bond in (usual) hole. Still stores. 14 May 900. Checked The hole (#248): empty! Good shape, though. 25May 1500. Bond in the usual hole. 26 May 930. 4 eggs [a runt]; fresh. 28 June 1630. 1 kid, ~3 do, +2 unhatched +undeveloped eegs. Band ~ 26 June. 25June 1500. Banded the 1 kid. Stores? Yes.
