2005 2006 Walter Poetry Melanerpes formicivorus Pipeline HNHR 26 March 600. An ambush of the main tree here yielded 83905 and the NOBA 9. 19 May 1000. Opened the new hole in the small square snag over by The creek (hole now tagged #918) that I discovered last night at roosting and found 3 inc. eggs! ①26.7×19.7 ②26.5×19.8 ③27.0×19.9. Could watch at any time. 22 May 1600. Still 3 eggs. 26 May 1400. Still 3 eggs. I think There's a problem, but I'll give them a few more days to be sure. 30 May 1600. Still 3 eggs. Developed, but then abandoned? I'm giving up, anyway, and The times I've been here none has been in the hole so I'm pretty sure They have as well. 8 Sept. Stores? I see none here. Out! 2006 23 May No stores left here, although the birds are interested in a new hole in a square over by the creek. 24 May 915. Opened the new hole - tagged #248. 4 eggs, see Justyn's notes for measurements. 4 June 1100. Checked the hole [Justyn]: 3 babies, ~4 do. No 4th egg, so presumably they all hatched. Bands ~ 21 June. 18 June 1200. Banded & bled the 2 kids. NO STORES left, best I can tell!
