Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Stromberg HNHR 6 January 730. Ambushed here, getting 1 bird (8'2802). Very likely the only bird here. (Put new color- bands on him.) 5 May 1600. Bird in hole (tag 5558). Empty; bottom has a hole in it going down to the lower hole (Which is in good shape). I patched it as best I could. 24 Aug Saw what I'd call 1 stored acorn here. Basically they're out. 2005 21 April 1700. Went up to the holes: #5558 had 2 old starling babies, while #1148 (the lowest one) had an unused grass nest in it. I cleaned them both out. There are birds & some stores here. 2007 9 Jan 1900. Stores + 2 birds here. Ambushed - got a NOBA 8' + 9' (now 4306 & 4307). Have been here since fall at least. 12 May 1630. Opened new hole (in Spearmore closer to driveway) but not quite done yet! 15 May 1100. Bird in hole. 28 June 1000. Banded the 3 kids in this group. Best I can tell, there are no stores left here!
