Chongo Chimmi HNHR
6Apr00) Plenty of stores and a bird here! Apparently,
there was a group here last winter.
25Apr07 1030. Bird in the highest hole over in that
tree beyond the granary with lots of holes.
1130. Opened The hole (now tagged #910):
4 eggs, several days incubated (at least).
① 27.8×19.4 ② 26.1×20.3 ③ 30.9×21.9 ④ 25.9×20.1
That 3rd egg is about as big as they come!
Presumably this is Chongo's nest!
3May 1630. 2 babies ~2 do + 2 unhatched eggs,
1 of which developed, at least. Band~ 20May.
12May There are eggs over at the "real" Chongo,
so this is not Chongo, it's a new group
that I'll call Chimmi. No known
granary for these guys, all of whom (all 3?)
are NOBAs.(I think)(at least a NOBA pair here).
17May This is The 2nd time I've tried to catch someone
feeding, but noone has come. I'm clearly
going to have to ambush at night or something
instead. 9NOBA came, finally. (Didn't go in)
3NOBA fed. OK; I'm going to get someone after all.
1100. Got a δ. Now #4084.
18May 1530 Got a ♀: #4086. Is this it?
20May 1400. No! Got δ#2 (now#4090). Hopefully
that's it!
1530. Returned & banded the 2 kids. There are,
by the way, a few stores across up near the nest!
