2003 2004 Walter Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Gazebo HNNR 5 May 1730. Bird in traditional hole: 4 eggs, incubated. EHD ~ 10 May; band ~ 31 May. 25 May 900. Banded & bled the 3 kids. 19 June 1110. Bird in that other nest hole near the central area that I fixed up a couple of years ago. I flushed him and didn't hear anything, so they probably still have eggs. Will need the 20' ext. ladder. 27 June 600. Babies ~3-4 to. Band before 14 June. 7 July 500. Banded & bled the 3 kids here. 8 stores? Oh yes. 2004 24 May No stores left here, best I can tell. Also still no sign of a nest.
