2005 2006 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Dipsy HNHR 15 March 600. Succeeded in snatching success from the arms of defeat by getting the F in the low (old bluebird) hole here after ambushing at the old H-B hole! She is indeed #3463; bands were changed/faded a whole lot. I put new bands on her. A second bird (presumably the 8) was missed. Note that on 12 March, this hole contained one Aneides lugubris! 6 April There are stores in the tree here. 19 April 1220. Bird in low hole (old bluebird hole): empty but in good shape. 26 April 1700. Checked the hole again (tag #1307): still empty. 2 May 1600. Bird in hole (1307): 5 eggs, 1 a rount: ① 25.6 × 20.4 ② 24.4 × 19.6 ③ 25.2 × 20.3 ④ 25.7 × 19.9 ⑤ 19.4 × 15.3. EHD: 12 May. 14 May 1500. 4 kids, ~1-2 do, + The rount egg. Band ~ 2 June. 1 June 1200. Banded & bled the 4 kids. Stores: Yes! Sept. A few (old) stores left here. 2006 6 March Some stores here, at least. 28 May 1500. Walked by the low hole here (tag 1307), where the birds had been roosting up to a couple of weeks ago (side Justin) only to have a starling fly out! I checked it: one egg. I cleared it all out. 30 May 430. Squeezed the F starling + again cleared out
