Dad heard a hawk calling in the vicinity of the place where the falco came from yesterday, and had no trouble in getting it. It was an adult female of the same species. Eventually there was a family group.
Dad also got a splendid "Ivory-billed" Woodpecker-like styl of a flicker. It was in open woods in the grassy fields. Altho it was a female it had a fine red crest.
While climbing a Mango tree to a bird nest-(egg)- I heard several vultures rushing up wind at Terrific speed -sweeping a cloud swish. We followed them and found a stump to be the main attraction. Two Caracaras were with them- one a young? bird was quite lovely but the other was a fine greyish necked fieldors. They appear quite distinctive in flight. The long neck is quite apparent.
