30 Last night we had a heavy thunder storm that beat into our staterooms. The climate generally is cooler and pleasant. July 5 Sun. Arrived in San Jose de Guatemala last night also free and remained all day until 6 P.M. The town is very small and we couldnt get ashore. We waited all day for ten passengers from Guatemala City. The setting back of here is great. Two great stiff Volcanic peaks rise behind the city - they are shaped like Fujiyama (no snow) and suggest also the Wash. peaks. There is a high table land about them which must be 5000 feet itself. Many other ones all of explosive type are near about. The coastal plain is here heavily timbered with tall jungle like trees and looks very interesting. Pelicans and Frigots even about the beach which
