23. They shifted us from office to another and got nowhere. Evidently, they were still anxious about giving us permission. The American Council was out so we returned to the ship. It was extremely hot on land and walking about was bad in the middle of the day. June 29 Mon. Remained on board at Mazatlan while the boat loaded. The weather was even worse than yesterday - nothing additional in the wind line was seen. We pulled out of port about 8:30 by daylight. The harbor is at the end of a wide open bay which is very prettily employed by hills points. It was good looking in the daylight, at least, as we sailed out. June 30 Tue. We spent the whole day in route to Acapulco.
