14 and heard countless birds, many of which we never did really observe. Two species were present; One small bird like those on the Marques Islands - Hooded Tyri; and another large or nearly as large as a Crow. The large bird was black all over the head and breast but had yellow on the belly, in the tail and in the wings. They were very striking as they flew. Three large hanging nests 2' to 3' long were hung everywhere in the tall trees. The nests however would have to be cut down always as they are placed on long hanging branches. Several birds were flushed from nests but collecting was useless as we couldn't shoot the birds. The nest of this bird was much like that of a Clark Crow. Probably they have other nests however. 37 Flycatchers were seen; One the large bird apparently like the large species in the Islands and several small one from the Island; The other
