Local: Lake Olomaga, Salvador, C.R. Set Mark 27 Nest. 5' 2up in a clump of thorny, spiny sensitive plant... The thicket was 7' high. The nest was usual humd platform of sticks rather frail (Eggs 3 days life). Coll. by Aldin Miller. N. Purple Gallinule Date Aug 1, 1925 Incb: fresh. Identity & Specimens taken. Local: Lake Olomaga, Salvador, C.R. Set Mark 28 2/8 Nest in the thick growth of water hyacinth along the edge all the lake. The nest was built of foreign grass well up to the matted plant... and in plain sight from above. The birds flushed from the vicinity of the nests. The birds seemed almost colonial in this region.
