in Salina Bay without seeing or hearing much. The only bird of which we saw an Oystercatcher along the bay. He was very wild but we could see him with the glass. He was white below with a black head and upper parts. - white in the wings. His note was the quality of a willet but accepted as V-, V-, V-, repeated many times. In the P.W. we loaded on a little freight and made ready to go then got a telegram to wait and sail Puerto Ayacu tomorrow. Sept 2 Wed) Morning found us in near Chachagua there is only a slightly protected cove of fine sand no settlement. The town is back from the ocean in the hills. The people failed to load on the stuff so we lay there the whole day. The only excitement filled were the pack of 10
