Some seemed to moult
and others not.
June 27 Sat.
Skinned the Parrot before breakfast and they were some "duns" as well as being mostly pin feathers.
The Parrots were eating some sort of fruit or buds - The Goldfinches were eating small black seeds like mustard seeds although there was no mustard plants seen.
The Goldfinches by the way sounded exactly like Greenback Goldfinches. The Warbles beside the song is a Verdinlike chip note.
The boat was underway this morning and again we had Pelah.
While on deck we often see Portugas and various fish jumping and leaping. We saw a large sort of Swordfish jumping clear of the water. Many seals and paper sailors (Colentia) were seen floating in the water.
At dusk we came into three Black Lead Gillrs - Basofish?
