that I saw this particular species before. There were many swallows, seemingly all [illegible] flying in loose flocks, headed south. In few more [illegible] ever seen. They are either Northern or Red (more likely northern). The weather which has been hot and sultry ever since Corinto today jerked up a rain which produced a fine breeze. Altho we didn't get wet, we could see the rain sheet no distance off towards land. A fine dappled Rainbow followed as the storm cleared. Aug 30 Sat. Sun. Salina Cruz. We struck the customary wind of Salina Cruz which made hunting rather difficult. The lagoon birds, the grackles were getting to all dried up. Due fall many young grackles around. The Juca Coves [illegible] have completed their nesting.
