156 Frigates were seen. Flatted Sandpipers were along the beach. The pier here is a fine cement affair with the railway on it. It seems quite dead without gulls sitting about. I did not mention on the night or late afternoon of the 22nd that Start and I went over to the cowbird colony. As mentioned in my data, the nests were much more common. We saw many Egrets and many gins. Little Blues which we took for egrets. They are all white except for the dusky on the wing tip. The feet are however flesh Green instead of Black as fin the Egret. Likewise the bill still shot at a flock of five while I was but could not get them - Aug 25. Tue The boat pulled in from Amapara last night at seven but was not recognized till this morning. We went aboard and
