152 job wasnt as bad as it might have been. Turned over a couple of silts one jacana, and got to "Van" off at back fifth San Salvador this P.M. Our boat is supposed to be in La Union the 24th so we pack tomorrow. Aug 23 Sun. Since Sturl had his traps out at the Canal I went over with him to get my own bird nest. The river was in such a flood that we had to land down at the mouth. A great deal of cachuga was being carried off down into the lake. There were great swirls and riffles in the river all the way up and she looked as bad as the Merced in flood. There was quite an agregation of canourants and fisherman at the mouth of the river. There seemed to be a great abundance of fish with the water was as thick as the Colorado river.
