As we came up to the island, many birds swarmed off of the ground while they were apparently at a gathering festival. They flew with green lustre into the trees. When we rowed away at sunset we thought we saw a flock of Boat-bills. They looked brown and darker than squabs. And as we looked back the whole gum tree line was dotted with just white egret.
