86. the south mountains. Mon. July 27 Spent the whole day in the train to Alomega where we expect to stay for some time. There are low mountains about but no near marshes. I don't know how much we will put up in the way of water birds. Tue July 28. I had to loose the day because of the sore on my foot but the folks found wherry thing in the woods. Out striking white venty clove, and many other things. There are Black- billed tree ducks fly emuants and tript birds about.
