Whether the birds were about the female or not I don't know but anyway they packed in to a small group like a line of pus so that when I shot a killed four and wounded several. The grackles and cowbirds were feeding in the cornfield near the trees. While in this region we heard a ventral fluttering soft smooth note which did seem to be young ani. They sit on the tops and whistle continually. The birds are gray long tailed and always followed by adult larks so we believe them to be young ani - although we were unable to shoot any. I found in this vicinity also a set of Budgerigar The nest is described for the data and is like others before observed. Aers flushed a part of Bobolink eggs are empty nest. They fly almost under my feet.
