66. Lizard hawk I at shot. One bird flew as we approached. There were several of the large yet most prudent. In this dense association I judge true there seem to be several different things. This is the best workable place of this association we have yet been able to find. During the past few days after examining many trees sheets I have come to the conclusion that the nests are used as roosts throughout the year. Although some rurus may have eggs most are only roosting when we flush them for the nest. Today after leaving the hawk vicinity we worked up the hill into some good juniper timber. Several woodpeckers were about the large trees. There was here a flock of sprayed Cowbirds (mules), adult female and young packies.. At one time I heard a female Cowbird give a chalin call (like 'Oryall' bylwd). and saw the flock of males swum in that direction
