L. hisingeri Selms., var.
" L. " of angustifera Whitf. Occas.
L. of hudsonica Hall. "
note 1. The anterior & posterior lobes are isolated;
they do not meet below, the 2 middle lobes are equal
and their lower ends curve and meet below forming a
horseshoe the base of which appears to be swollen
into a tubercle. The loose slice is quite distinct
from the anterior & posterior lobes. Also same
form also occurs at 3.44.4 A.
note 2. The commonest species (see figs 1,4) a low
form like L. alta with fuller front than L.
hisingeri. It is not so tall as L. alta. It
is probably L. hisingeri Selms., var.
A second form represented by figures 5&6
is a very tall species nearest to L. hudsonica
Hall also not quite identical also similar to
L. cæca Jones, but not so flat in front.
fig 3 represents the L. angustifera Whitfield
type, which is swollen ventro-posteriorly. This
is probably merely the mature female.
