124 Aug. 3, 1908 At the head of the inlet near the mill occurs a large mass of gabbro over 100 yds. broad exposed at and near the end of the mill on both side of the pond and on the west side of the inlet S of the mill. This is flanked on the west by a couple of feet of tough blue shales striking N. 38° W. & underlain by basal looking tuffs visible on the north side of the mill pond in the woods. The tuffs here strike N. 25° W. Y dip 28° N.E. The shale reappear under the gabbro on the west side of the inlet striking N. 25° W. & dipping 26° N.E. The tuffs beneath appear on the point S. N.W. S. 1. 5. Drop & gabbro form the shore down to the road except for some dark looking rhyolite tuffs caught up in the bed near S.W. edge of S. 1. 5'. A thick strike trends across the road N. 70° W. dip along the shore, N. 70° W. brought down of the new bridge appear some and tuffs striking N. 12° W. & dipping E. 25° Bell's Mills 8. I. 4. 5
