"Carrying Place Cove Quadrille Ruled Form. John C. Moore Corporation, Rochester, N.Y., Binder and holes in leaves, each Patented 1906 5-53-7 A on the south edge of 5-53-7 there crop out some tough indurated dark blue shale striking along the shore line N x 5° W and dipping 26° to the East. These shales for about 15 feet thickness overly 8-3-1 A and contain a fauna of chiefly Spirifer crepus (small) & Dalmanella. The fauna 5-53-7 A include: Brinoid Joaote Occasional Dalmanelle Common Cleiostra cornuta occasional Pholidops simplicata (?) " Latta Stereocisma of Acina Rure Spirifer crepus (small). Common Dalmanites occas. Orthoceras lindera (?) " Stria topora R. Grammysioolest. R. # The strike swings around from N 5° W on the south to N 2° E on the north. Following the strike of 5-53-7 northward we find that the shales remain rather below are softer plated. These softer slaty shales form the first point in zonalism 5-53-7 and strike N 5° W and dip N 85° E, 28°. The slaty cleavage strikes N 32° E and dips southeast about 45°. Fossils indistinct same as 5-53-7 A till Atropa reticularis added. Continuing northward the shales still appear slaty with strike N 5° W. Dip 28° E. Slaty cleavage chiefly N 35° E, dy 50° SE. These shales contain fossils at a locality about 1½ to ¼ mile up.
