There are also increased large clumps, a foot thick, of beautiful flow tricena along the flow line in the light colored internum. The margin of this flow is dark purple. There are also dark purple and obly [illegible] clumps, which contain fossils = 6.49a . Fossils also occur in other red shale gotbles and in
x2 gray shale gotble. A set of Jurassic from separate getbles are labelled
6.49a B,C,D,E,F,G,H.R.

In the little cove in fig.3 (S.W. part of 6.49 occurs a some line of exposure of shale about 250 feet long. The shale is friable gray in color, very fossiliferous in seams and contain scattered calcare lenses 1 inch to 5 inches thick & one to a foot and a half long. These values some directions are more massive for.
The shales dip 66 and 76\deg for taken in a dipping N.70\deg E and strike N.20\deg W. About 10 feet of shale is exposed below a 12 foot quartzite sandstone which appears in place to fit of very friable dirty gray shales.
