B.D 700.20. 8486 at hole for 5s, flies out. 00.30. 9383 L.O 3.04. B.D 3.10. L.O. 4.05. Leaves 9.18. 9269 9.25. 9269 enters 17.25. L.O 17.42. Leaves goes to granary. 22.30. Intruded in granary chased by 99. 28.55. 9269 enters hole 31.00. L.O 32.00. Leaves. 40.00. 35 birds in granary ganging up to shag out a Crow 50.00. Everyone flycatching 53.00. 8486 at hole; also 8580 above limb; apparently a 3rd bird [illegible] (9?) inside. All left w/in 30s. 809.40. 9383 enters hole. Out by 25.00 (don't know exactly when). 10.00. 8579 at entrance for 10s; leaves w/o entering 830. Going up to check the hole. 845. 4 eggs now in hole: both laid this morning. 945. Checked the hole in the Valley Oak where 9269 had been laying, and it's empty. 23 April 1120. 6 eggs in the hole! #5 and 6 measured and returned. 24 April 1140. 8 eggs in the hole! 25 April 1045. Still 8 eggs. Looks like that's going to be it. 7 May 1130. Checked the nest: 4 babies and 4 unhatched (and probably infertile) eggs. The babies were weighed and marked. 9 May 1530. Checked and measured the babies.
