Melanarpes formicivorus
Westgate Hastings Reservation
23 May 1630. They've got 3 babies! All in good shape and about 7-8 dys old! The nest here is 6.3m high.
26 May 1700. Saw 8^ca/la #58 in the vicinity of the nest here.
8 June 1330. Banded and bled the 2 babies here as #693 & 694.
The 3rd was dead but still in the nest.
14 June 1630. This group is functionally out of acorns: Ω. The babies are still screaming away in the nest, however, and with any luck at all they'll make it.
