Koenig 7 Melanerpes formicivorus Finch Hastings Reservation 22 July Ron watched here today and saw everyone - including all the babies - except j615, who thus is pegged as the baby who got wabbed along with the ♀ last week -> j615 Found dead, died about 12 July. This bird did fledge, at least. 4 August 1000. Several Garricks here: could be something up re the replacement of the ♀. 1100. A chase seen and more Garricking, but I wasn't able to pin down the intruder(s). I did see ① j613, ② 866, ③ 8282, and ④ 500. 1120. ⑤ j wn-red/wh-red #616 seen. 1135. Counted stores: Valley Oak: 10 Sycamore Gwany: 90 Other: 0 } Definitely hitting the end here. 5 August 863 and j543 seen together up at Lambert! 25 August Sometime between [illegible] and 4 August the dead part of the old Sycamore nest tree here fell (and subsequently burned in the fire on 10 August) taking with it the 1975 thru 1979 nest holes. This afternoon on the way up Poison Oak Hill Ron and I flushed at least 6 birds just along the ridge below POHill #1 who were from Finch. Identified were ① ♂ Red/14a #500 ② ♂ 14a/14e #501, and ③ ♂ 18-0r/18b #542 (sex of last bird not positive). These birds are also out of stores now. 5 October Still no stores here yet. 28 November 1230. Saw ♂ 18e/14a #501 while out here counting stores. Also, I should record that the birds here did lose some storage
