(15 July) here- Thus, for the moment I'm going to delete the
unbanded ♀ entirely. Apparently whatever ♂♀ were
interested in the area earlier did not stick around.
29 July The fire was stopped right at the edge of the Arnold Field
where the old corral fence line was and thus this
territory was unaffected.
2 August I heard birds down here while up by LA2 inspecting the
burn.
4 August 935. 3 (!) birds right together in the tall perch tree which
sticks up behind the nest area. All 3 moved and flew behind
the knoll; I then flew over my head going toward the
forest area down by Jimmy's fence line. I'm not convinced
that these are in fact the birds who "belong" here.
7 August 915. 2 and maybe 3 birds flushed from the central area:
♂ DB / or #123 and ♂ a ♀ (!).
920. Watching. Calls from the knoll sound like 3 birds.
1020. Leaving. There are definitely birds here, but they are not
returning to their Black Oak at the moment.
3 September 1030. A fair amount of activity here. At least 3 birds;
apparently some chasing. I don't know what's up;
possibly the Black Oak birds are still in this vicinity.
16 September 740. All quiet here at the moment. Just a few minutes ago
the Black Oak birds were apparently flying over here.
745. Now several birds in the far knoll up by LA2 - seem to have
converged here from all possible directions. A ♂ here just Carricked,
5 October 1600. Passed by here but noted no birds nor stores. This group
may at last have expired.
