1979 Walter D. Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Chongo Hastings Reservation 17 February 1315. No sign of any birds or stores here. 13 March 1230. No sign of life here. 25 June 1330. Nobody over in the main area. However- over in the tree with the holes over on Buckeye Hill across from Chongo is a nest - not necessarily Acom Woodpeckers and maybe not Chongo's even if they are (Buckeye?) but something that deserves my immediate attention nonetheless. 1335. Bird flying this way from Buckeye! 9 September Noone in this area today as I wandered around doing vegetation transects. 10 October 1010. No sign of stores or any birds here in passing. 6 November 1100. No sign of anything over here as far as I can tell from Buckeye Hill through the scope.
