Pub hawking from Wiate Sycamore. 20 April 1845. 1 bird was in a hole in the Wiate sycamore when I arrived, but he flushed and disappeared, after which I saw nor heard anyone else roost anywhere at dusk. Where are these birds going? I especially checked the Wiate tree and found no evidence of anyone roosting there except for the initial presence of the one bird. 21 April 1030-1100.
