2003 2004 Walter D Koenig MacRoberts HNHR (27 May) a starling nest, but in among it were 2 fresh woodpecker eggs (!) Not sure What This means or what to do; perhaps I'll replace the eggs with 2 dead ones just in case it all falls apart? 1700. Did The deed: The 2 eggs (25.4 x 20.8 ② 24.6 x 20.4) are now in the incubator, replaced with 2 eggs from the fridge. 29 May IIIS. 4 eggs, + bird in the hole. ① All OK here, apparently. New eggs: ③ 24.8 x 20.3 ④ 25.1 x 20.6 I should put the eggs back in a couple of days. 7 June 645. Returned the 2 eggs (which have been in the incubator), there and took the 2 dead eggs out. There are 5 eggs here (#5: 25.2 x 19.9), so the last egg was laid 30 May. All 5 look just fine. 15 June 2010. Watched roosting: ⑤ 3327 went in, and then, quite late, ⑥ field-Blue #2973 joined him. 29 Sept 845. Acorns stored here (from last year), 2004 24 April 1600. Still stores here. Also, a bird in the hole: 3 fresh (ish) eggs! The 1st nest of the year! Eggs Measured: ① 23.5 x 18.9 ② 24.4 x 19.3 ③ 24.5 x 20.0 (calipers checked). 23 April 1630. Checked the nest: 5 eggs. 2 new ones are ④ 25.6 x 19.1 ⑤ 25.7 x 19.7. 27 April 730. Took the eggs for the first (only) Melanerpes fomnicironus
