Melanerpes formicivorus
Knoll
HNNR.
14 April
82749
roosted
for sure
1105. Tonight it was definitely Over# 2749
Who replaced 82563 at the final hour and roosted
in The nest.
15 April
1115. Took the 6 eggs (1st exp. for the year).
Hole tagged: 5562.
Measured eggs: ① 26.3 x 19.5, ② 27.2 x 20.0
③ 25.6 x 19.7 ④ 27.1 x 19.3 ⑤ 26.7 x 19.2 ⑥ 27.0 x 19.3.
19 April
Eggs started hatching this morning. Processed
all 6 as 3637-3642.
24 April
1115. Checked The hole they're now interested

be laying, however.
1 May
1645. Checked the hole: 8 eggs. EtD ~ 7 May.
9 May
915. Checked the hole: 6 babies, 1 unhatched
egg, + I tried up nestling → 7 hatched.
I took the egg + the rent nestling, who
surely was not going to make it, for tissue.
(egg was fertilized) and left 5 babies.
10 May
1935. Watched roosting. 82563 roosted for sure
(3 cn / cn). I'm pretty sure a 2nd bird did also,
my best guess as to the bands was LP/LB, possibly
827SD? Pretty iffy on him, I'm afraid. Perhaps
I somehow saw his Right leg and it was 82749?
Heck if I know.
11 May
1935. Tonight it was either 82563 (probably) or some
other bird I couldn't ID. One then left, so I can't
