Melanerpes formicivorus
Buckeye Anney
HNNR
6 May
1030. Found a nice hole in a blue oak. 100m or so
beyond the traditional tree (Where woone ever is
anymore) that has feathers caught on the bark
so is clearly active. Three birds (all NOBAs, best
I could tell) were in the vicinity. Almost
surely a good bet for a nest; not sure I
should still call it Buckeye Anney, but I probably
will.
