2001 Walter Koenig 2002 Melanurpes formicivorus Lambert HNTOR 9 June 735. Trying again, but I only have an hour and the ball just messed up and fell yet again! 840. Got a (2nd) 8! 10 June 715. Back for one more shot. 745. Got a (3rd) 8! 900. All 3 other banded birds have fed. No sign of a 2nd 8 yet, although she almost has to be here. 1000. Got a (4th) 8! Plus, there is definitely a 2nd 8 here (at least!). Leaving for now. 11 June 915. Back for one more. 1000. Wouldn't you know: yet one more (tax 5th!) 8. Clearly some helpers here; whenever those guys came from they bred last year. Birds feeding include ① 8 M/LB ② 8 Rs/M ③ 8 Wn-Blk/Red ④ 8 Vel/DB-WH(n) ⑤ 3 Wn-Blk/Red? Blk . That's all banded up to now! 1200. Finally got a 2nd 8! That's all; I actually suspect a 3rd 8 here (at least), but this is as good as I'm going to do for now. 16 June 1600. Banded the 4 kids. 2002 12 March No stores here. Maybe these guys have taken over the Swantz tree? (Which looks nice, although there really isn't much there at the moment either.)
