2004 WaltirD Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus Phobo 2 June 1120. Set up to try and get The ♂ NOBA here at The nest. 1140. ♂ m/red-wm #2985. 1220. ♂ m/da #3263, Feeding acorn bitz 1300. Finally a ♀, but missed her bands (or she didn't have any). 1350. ♂ m/am-wm(nv) #3120. Pushed out of the way by ♂ 3263. Sex not seen, but definitely not B1k-BPk(N) - LL seen well, actually. 1410. Quitting for now. 3 June 845. Back to try again. 954. ♂ 2985. 1022. ♀ la-wm(nv)/da #2821 for sure. On later visits the LL band looked redder, albeit fairly faded. 1105. ♂ m/da #3263. 1302. Gave up; caught ♀ 2821 for stable isotopes and banded the 2 kits. 5 June 500. Ambushed 3 holes - pretty much everything except The (current) nest - and got a grand total of 1 bird: ♂ 3120. (In the previously unopened hole in The side tree.) 10 August STILL stores remaining here.
