HNHR
(13 April) Alternatively, and, given how clean and fresh
the eggs looked, it's more likely, I'd guess
that the 1st set I found on 4 April is
gone and that this is the replacement
clutch! Odd!
So! The ♂ is 3112 from 1800, another
brother of the 2 ♂♂ we knew were here.
Perhaps his appearance here is related to
the apparent disappearance of the clutch?
18 April 1115. Lance reported virtually no activity here,
so I came fearing the worst and found it: nest
is empty. I still suspect cobreefer ♂ problems.
24 April 1000. None in any holes. Still stores.
4 May 1610. Bird in same hole! 6 eggs, fresh. Measured
3:① 25.5 × 20.3 ② 25.5 × 20.1 ③ 25.7 × 19.8.] Remarks). 5/9.
8 May 1930. Tonight ♂ M/a 3111 came to the hole, but
only ♂ Red-Or/alk 3113 roosted in the nest.
9 May 840. Took the 6 eggs and put them into the
incubator.
The other 3:④ 25.3 × 20.1 ③ 25.7 × 20.6 ⑥ 25.7 × 20.2
① 25.7 × 20.2 ② 25.9 × 20.5 ③ 25.6 × 20.2 ← All six!
On the ground, I found I almost intact egg,
no doubt from one of the prior nests. It was empty
except for a 1/4" hole in the side. It measured 26.3 × 20.2.
All the eggs are pretty translucent except for 1; I
hope this doesn't mean that only it's fertile!
11 May One of the 6 eggs hatched and is now #3394.
