A touch of power struggling still up here, me thinks. 18 May Still stores. No sign of a nest still. 31 May 945. Checked the nest: 6 babies, 2-3 do + 3 unhatched + undeveloped eggs, 1 of which is a nunt. 19 June 1000. Banded the 1 and only baby here!! There are still stores here. 20 July Only a very few acorns left, best I can tell. 31 August Noone in any holes. Out of acorns, I believe. 6 Sept. 930. Checked The higher old hole, where there was a bird yesterday afternoon. Empty. 2001 18 April 1045. Bird in hole (tag #276): empty, but in good shape. 24 April 1035. Hole still empty. 7 May 1700. Finally: 5 eggs (hole 276): ① 25.5 x 20.2 ② 26.2 x 21.0 ③ 26.2 x 20.9 ④ 26.6 x 20.3 ⑤ 25.7 x 20.8. Eggs a couple days incubated; EHD ~ 16 May. 17 May 1600. 4 babies 2-3 do + 1 unhatched eggs. Band ~ 4 June. 1 June 500. Banded the 3 kits here. 26 June Spent part at 1830. Bird in (same) hole; checked it: empty. 2002 17 April 1515. Bird in hole 276. Checked it: needs some cleaning still! Definitely acorns still here. 10 May 1600. Hole 276 still not fixed up, but I put in wood chips and now it's ready to go, if anyone here
