2002 WaltawD Poetry Melanerpes formicivorus Stromberg HNUR 7 May 1945. At roosting tonight, I bird only came and went in; my visual on him was 4el-DB/4el-DB, which comes closest to being 82913 (or 1B/or-DB). The only issue with him is that he was last seen 8 March. If he's no longer here, I guess I'd have to go for 82802 (DB-wm/wk-DB); if there was a bit of space between the bands, it would come close. 8 May Doug, in 6 hrs of watching, has seen neither of those 8B's! Instead, he's only seen 82762, who I have to admit could also have been the bird who roosted last night. In any case, I need to check with Devin, but it would appear as though there may only be 1B3 here!! 17 May 1215. After ignoring these guys for 9 days, I realized I should check the nest, so I did, and found it empty! Bummer. By the way, there are stores left. 29 May 1600. Birds in (same) hole again: 5 eggs, incubated FHD ~ 2 June. ① 23.8 × 19.1 ② 23.2 × 19.7 ③ 22.8 × 19.3 ④ 23.8 × 20.0 ⑤ 23.7 × 19.8 (calipers checked). 3 June 1430. 56abies, ~3-4 do (I runtish; others will probably make it). Band ~ 20 June. 4 June 1730. Found 82772 - the breeder - DOR on the road in front of Stromberg's. Bummer
