Melanerpes formicivorus
CVI → CVIA
HNHR
(8 May) ① 23.6 × 18.8 ② 23.2 × 19.2 (I only measured two).
21 May
1000. 2 babies, 1-2 do, + legs that had a big
hole in it and was empty, but clearly didn't successfully
hatch, that measures 23.6 × 19.4.
Band ~ 9 June.
8 June 1500. This group turns out not to be CVI
(Who has a nest in the sycamore next door)
but a new group I'm calling CVIA.
Today I banded their 2 babies. They
even have a few acorns stored up there.
This nest is literally ~30m from the CVI
nest!
