Melanerpes furnicivorus
Los Arbolitas
HNHR.
(4 June) 1 a runt. Forgot to check whether they were
incubated or not; I'd say probably not much.
10 June 2000. Must have failed again - none
showed the slightest interest in the hole
tonight at roosting. Bummer.
21 June 1500. 4th attempt back in the original hole:
8 eggs 1-2 days incubated. I took # half
(4) to incubate ourselves just in case this
time.
27 June 1900. Watched roosting: 8 BIK/M #2095 roosted
by himself for sure.
29 June 1030. With one of the eggs hatched, we returned them,
taking blood from 3 hatchlings (incl the one we had)
so we have something no matter what.
Band ~ 19 July.
18 July 1030. Banded the 4 kids.

successful last year. Needs to be checked!

watch here a bit and then take them.
