2001 Walter Coening Melanerpes formicivorus Crystal HNHR 5 September I'm pretty sure that I've finally found the hole for the "mystery" group, located in the forest between Lower Long Field and Horsetail, presumably from which the NOBA fledgling found by Joey here along the road back in cardy July, fledged, Unfortunately, I pretty much had to cut the limb with the hole and tape it down a bit lower on the tree, so I didn't set the ambush, figuring I'll give them a while to get used to it all. However, the amazing thing is that below the hole in a dead limb of the tree are at least a few old, stored acorns!
