2001 2002 2003 2004 Waltrid Koning Melanerpes fornicivorus 2 HNDR 23 July 1445. Banded the 1 baby at the 2nd (successful) next here. 2002 12 April Stores here, but none in a hole. 7 May Still stores, but I can't see evidence of a nest. 2 May 1715. Bird in traditional hole (also on 19 May). Time to check it. 19 June 1400. Banded and bled the 3 babies (#3737-3739). 2003 7 April Lots of stores, 13 May 1515. New tagged hole: #5801 3 eggs: ① 23.8 x 19.5 ② 23.0 x 19.2 ③ 23.2 x 19.0 Fresh. EHD? Could still be laying. 16 May 1400. 5 eggs. The new ones are: ④ 23.0 x 19.0 and ⑤ 23.7 x 19.7. EHD ~ 26 May. 28 May 1145. Nest completely empty! 3 July 1300. Banded the 2 kids. (See Joey's notes for earlier info on this nest.) Acorns: Yes, lots. 29 Sept A few acorns here, at least. 2004 3 May Don't seem to be any stores left here. 12 May Starling nest in the traditional hole here. 13 May Cleared out the starling nest. There are other holes in this tree - way up there. 14 June Opened a new hole in the 2nd tree in the main trunk facing the road: full of water! 24 August No stores
