Begin obs - Low clouds, damp, good wsty, smooth sea.
Flock-counted-been around ship + perching on heli deck since sunup.
Circed low overhead - good views of above & below
Separate flock arrived, then joined earlier flock giving

Remained with ship for over an hour. Finally shot, but dropped
over the side and was lost. Orange/red - particularly bright on
breast, throat, head, back - Wings dusky. Dusky patch eye to bill.
Tanager bill. Seemed much more orange/vermilion than normal
summer or Hypatic.

String/flock in air - very distant
Jaeger chasing landbird - landbird finally reached ship, jaeger departed. Landbird [illegible] well, didn't look at ship, but it departed.
Jaeger wings relatively narrow, pointed. Flight rapid, apily followed erratic escape flight of euydionax. Two pointed central tail feathers - proper length for parasitic.
