Shean. 1 √ s-sw — following field characters noted: white breast,
black, upper rings + head (upper) predominantly gray. Distinctive "W" pattern
across wings. Flight shearwater like, slightly slower wingbeats
than sooty, alternate flapping + short glides - viewed for ca. 1 min.
0719 BFA 1 √ w — "ring" of white around tail, not too extensive

Shean? 1 √ sw — noted: white breast, gray upper, rapid
shearwater slope interspersed with short glides close to water. no high arcs.
BFA 2 √ w — following ship; 1 my dark rump, just a
bit of light on wing, other w/ ring.
0740 BFA 3 √ w — 3rd just join ship
0746 BFA 4 √ w — 4th "" "" 22 have white rump;
these birds may be dividing their attention
between us + the accompanying ship, 'this
2 didn't see any following it.

fluttered behind ship briefly.

0830 Gorga sp.? 1 √ w — followed ship for ca. 3 min + then settles
to water. Dark brown above + my
yellowish-brown, lighter breast. ca.
fall-sized; unglare foot than gulls.
