(22 May) Zap! chased immediately from the area. She doesn't seem
to get chased except when she goes near the hole, however.
1240. Leaving. $348, who was seen last night, is
gone. So far, though, the nest lives, with 7 trips
seen: $88 - 1 trip
$296 - 4 trips
$298 - 2 trips.
$297 is here, but nonetheless was not seen going to the hole.
Not surprisingly, $348's replacement is not settled yet, and
even though 1 or more $ are being apparently
happily greeted here by the $88, none are being allowed at
the nest.
24 May 1420. None in the hole.
1610. $RRR#88, $YR#296, plus a 3rd bird in tree 3, and loud
rasps coming from the hole - the nest is still on!
27 May Watched the nest here between 900-1200. All 4 $88 were
seen feeding, and additionally an unbanded $ was seen
entering the hole several times and, whether she fed or not,
removing many fecal sacs! See the back for a compilation.
Some Garricking and a little residual chasing was seen, but
evidently this $ is pretty well moved in already (6th day).
28 May 1655. Watching nest. Set up for ambush to get $.
1755. Giving up. Going to check babies and dismantle the trap.
29 May watched nest from 1530-1730. See back for a compilation.
2 June 1950. At dusk tonight, a single unringed streaked bird
roosted in the nest hole.
3 June Though the final exchange has possibly not settled down
