Pivot Pin A and Clamp Screw B are pressed-fit
into Casting C. If the pressed-fit on either
A or B works loose, the Nansen bottle, the
thermometer case, and the thermometers are lost.
Drilling of the Casting C and installation of
the Taper Pins D prevents this type of
failure.
