A nonadult bird fluttered about and occasionally landed on the ship
while maneuvering at Point Dogwood. I am not able to identify the bird
to species. The lesser would be the most probable as it ranged onto the
Pt. Conception area, 42 miles from "Dogwood."

A small landbird flitted briefly about the ship at Pt. Dogwood, 23
July. It was about the size of a House Finch/Sparrow, and probably was
one or the other.
