TIME SPECIES # DIR. BAND NO. REMARKS
0627 Kermanoc? Petrel 1 NW - The sky is completely overcast with dark clouds, just as yesterday. It is dark and rather cool.
0648 Cook's Petrel 1 NE - Too far out & insufficient light to be sure - definitely a large size Pterodroma with white belly and much dark in underwing. Thought I caught sight of white patch several times in underwing, but I'm not sure. Kermode is bent. Possibly.
0654 Stout Shearwater 1 N/E -1000 views.
0725 Leach Petrel 1 - m 420 - Good views close to ship - molt in progress. Not pearl grey (new feathers) head brownish (old feathers), but not black, underwing with dark border but not as dark nor as wide as a Black-wing petrel? [illegible] light.
0726 NO
0741 066 - BREAK FAST
0745 Cooks Petrel 1 N - head, neck & back black. Underwing border bar as in bird of 0648. This bird is broken then thought it should be, but it seems to me as sharply outlined as Black-wing.
