1600 about a thousand yards from the ship the Fork Tailed Gull swooped slightly up and hovered with feet down just like a large turn preparing to dive. The gull then dipped to ca 10' above the water but did not pursue the fish, it had apparently sighted. The bird then flew leisurely (very light, steady, slow wing beats) away!!! JY Good
