Williams at the Arnold Spring this morning. 17 July j404 seen at the spring again this morning. 23 July 1720. Watching from truck. 1735. ♀ preening. ⚪♀ub. 1745. ⚪actually consuming an acorn here! Joined by ②♂Or-br/Or-br#104. 1800. ⚪j/or/Bile #403; pecking away at what would also appear to be an acorn. 1815. ⚪104 flew into a Black Oak and returned, only to begin hacking away at an acorn. Apparently at least some of the kelloggii are big enough to eat already. 1816. ⚪j#404; also ⚪♂ yel/yel #108 and ♀ub again, 1838. Both jwrs. together for several minutes begging, etc. No sign of j405, who should have showed up by now. Both ados here also. 1850. Leaving, 1♂ still in the perch tree. j405 not seen after banding on 9 June. Others honey-dory. 25 July 1300. No stores remaining in the granary. 30 July j403 and 404 seen by Pam at the Arnold Spring this morning 1 August j403 seen at the Arnold Spring this morning. 5 August j404 drank at the Arnold Spring at 1505. 30 August 1815. Watching from truck. 1840. ⚪j/or/bile #403. Still ♂-type. ⚪♀ub, ⚪♂♂#108,+2nd♂ all with green acorns. 1845. ⚪j-red/M #404. Also still ♂-type. 1852. ⚪♂or-red/or-red #104. Why does this bird always look odd?
